Krokodil Comes to the East Coast of the US
In 2002, there were reports of the flesh-eating zombie drug that was first reported in middle and eastern Siberia that then spread across Russia and the former Soviet republics. This home-made narcotic with horrifying side effects was said to be cheaper and much more powerful than heroin.
Sounds More Like a Monster Than a Drug!
Krokodil, the drug that sounds more like a monster than a drug has made it to the east coast of the United States. The drug is a mixture of desomorphine that is created by mixing codeine with gasoline, paint thinner, iodine, hydrochloric acid, and red phosphorous. User’s rot from the inside out, the skin becomes scaly resembling a crocodile blood vessels burst, tissue dies, gangrene sets in, and amputations are common place for users. The epidemic in Russia reported approximately three million users.
Long-Lasting, Cheap High!
The high from Krokodil lasts for approximately one and a half hours and is three times cheaper to produce than heroin. Flesh rotting that is specific to injection areas commonly leaves users with damage to their feet and arms. Often bone and muscle tissue are left exposed.
Krokodil Found in New Hampshire
Previous reports of Krokodil use in the US have been from the Southwest. Now there have been claims of a user found in New Hampshire who was said to be all but rotting alive! Krokodil is a synthetic “heroin-like” drug called Desomorphine that is made by combining codeine tablets with toxic industrial chemicals and lighter fluid. First responders had stated that even the most seasoned veterans had trouble stomaching the sights and smells at the scene.
Addicts Willing to Go to Any Length
You have to wonder what would make someone try this horrible drug in the United States, knowing what it does to users. Yes, it’s cheap and powerful, but there are other drugs that don’t eat you alive! Then again addiction is addiction, who is really thinking! It just shows you how powerful the grip of addiction is.
